U of M KnitWits thank you for your yarn donations! Busy KnitWit volunteers knit & crochet over 3000 warm goods each year to distribute in their work with community agencies in Southeast Michigan and througout the US. Findings continues to be a drop off point for any donations of yarn for this purpose.

Some of you have asked if you can be a KnitWit, wishing to knit your own donations instead of donating unused yarns. The answer is YES! Handmade warm goods of all sorts (hats, mittens, scarves, afghans, etc) for all ages from toddlers to adults are needed.

Donations of both yarn and finished handmade pieces are taken during store hours. IF you have questions, call 734-929-9751 and ask for Lisa (knitWit coordinator) or Gerry.

Our quilt "Under the Sea" will reside in the wonderful home of Pat Chipman!

When telephoned with the wonderful news that Pat won the raffle for the quilt, her immediate response "I never win anything".

Well you did Pat and congratulations.

I would like to thank all who worked so hard on the quilt. We raised over $1500 for Leukemia and Lymphoma research. I had no idea how much work went into making a quilt and pulling it all together.

Those beautiful squares were designed by:

Alice Hinterman
Connee Morris
Deb Stuff
Donna Wiley
Erin Keem
Hollie Archdale
Joanne Johnson
Judy Holzschuh
Julie Hale
Kathie Padilla
Kristen Uthus
Laura Podob

Lori Mason
Sue Nordman
Susan Kolovson

Dragon flies beaded by Gerry Dimond (Margo Field design)

A special thanks also to:

Julie Hale and Connee Morris of Bits & Pieces Quilt shop in Wayne
for all the hours framing each square and piecing it together so beautifully.

Joanne Johnson who so painstakingly stabalized the quilt with machine stitching.

Deb Stuff for pulling it all together with the backing, and finishing touches,
including the back pocket to hold the book. (Debs great idea).

Barbara Brown for the very appropriate hand made book to accompany the quilt.

It was a labour of love and it showed. Thank you all!
