January Stone of the Month ~ Flower Jade

     Flower jade is a type of jadite. Jadite comes in a variety of colors, including red, orange, yellow, green, blue, lilac, pink, black, white and brown. Jadite can be found in Japan, Myanmar, Guatemala, California and Alaska.  Historically, Jadite has been treasured in China as the royal gemstone for 5000 years. Hardness: 7

      Beginning in February the 3rd Sunday of the month will be devoted to working on and finishing those Cynthia Rutledge projects with like minded beaders. I know I have several in my stash. The first date is February 19 from 11:30~3:30. Soooo - dig through your stash, pull up a project and bring it in. Let's get beading! It would be nice to have a huge display of finished projects when Cynthia arrives next October 24th.

      There are still a couple of openings in Hollie's Saturday Crochet Rope class this Saturday from 12:30~3. If you are interested, we must know by Thursday morning so the pre-work can be done by Saturday. The Thursday classis currently wait listed.

      We have several new books focusing on bead crochet.

Hollie weekly series opening to new beaders!

      Hollie's on-going Wednesday evening and Thursday afternoon classes are starting a new series beginning next week. Both of these classes are going to work with Peyote stitch. Wednesday evening is beginning peyote. Thursday afternoon is intermediate peyote. Intermediate means that you are familiar and comfortable with the basic peyote stitch. If you are interested in joining one of these on-going groups, now is the time to call in.
